“ I called Phil and asked about his ribs on voicemail - he called me back and we talked. We worked something out and I drove by for pickup, zero effort on my part. Phil met me at the front door with my order immediately. Got home to an incredibly tender and flavorful batch of ribs (zesty style). My wife couldn’t help but ask for some (there was a lot) and even she, who really doesn’t care for ribs, was over the moon about how tender and flavorful they are. I wish I had asked about the sides (I didn’t) but based on the BBQ ribs I can tell you that this is truly genuine southern barbecue and I’ll go back again and again. ”
“ My husband and I weren't sure of the hours as we hadn't been before and didn't realize they usually close around 5 when the food runs out. We stopped by around 7:15 and Phil explained his hours but then welcomed us in after closing to be out of the rain and graciously packed up 2 combo meals with fresh fried okra and an extra sandwich for us to go!! He is so incredibly kind-we will definitely be back and spread the word. We inhaled our dinner when we got home and it was BOMB. Thank you so much, Phil!!! ”
“ This is funky, great bbq! Tricky to order. Luckily, we ran into Phil one day. He is so friendly and accommodating. I have lived across the street but never smelled smoke, so thought it was a jazz joint. My favorite was to sit on our back deck, drinking wine in my jammies and listening to the music. Anyway, we ordered the day prior, picked up the next afternoon and ate til we were stuffed. ”
“ Mr. Phil goes above and beyond for his Customer's. I've been a Proud Support of his for 10 years or better. He doesn't disappoint when it comes to the kitchen and getting You Your Food. Always had a Heart of Gold with Great Hospitality. Thank You so much for Your Service. Good be snacking good. ”
“ I hate to post a 5 star review because I’m selfish. Excellent bbq ribs. Probably the best I’ve had in a while. Also had the wings that were phenomenal. Fri d okra cabbage and Mac and cheese are on point. Had the bbq pigs feet, not my thing but were great. Picked up fried pork chop plate for my girlfriend and it’s great. Unassuming hole in the wall, but a great personable Christian man runs the place. Check it out for sure. ”
“ They told me not to eat everything...! but everything was so so good and tasty...... I'm sleepy ”
“ This is the definition of a "hole in the wall." Very unassuming building, a locked security door that had to be unlocked before I could come in, and an odd interior for a restaurant. What I ended up with was one of the best porkchop dinners I have ever had. The sides of greens and mac and cheese were also made perfectly. Of everything that was so good, this man has sweet tea down to a science. I will be going back for lunch as often as I can, and will bring a 5 gallon bucket I hope I can pay him enough to fill full of that tea! ”
